Those of you who have participated in the past (or expressed interest in participating) should have received emails with details about registration. Training workshops are offered free of charge in August and September and run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m; a schedule follows. Email Rebecca Houser to learn more and register.

Field Training Workshops for first time participants or those who want to review the protocols and see what is new and different this year:

  • Saturday, September 12: Hudson River Park’s Pier 84 Classroom, Midtown West, W.44th St. (between the Circle Line and the Intrepid), Manhattan
  • Saturday, September 26: Norrie Point Environmental Center, 256 Norrie Point Way, Staatsburg, Dutchess County

Special Topic Workshops

  • Wednesday, August 19: Submerged Plants and the Hudson Ecosystem. Norrie Point Environmental Center, 256 Norrie Point Way, Staatsburg, Dutchess County. With guest scientist Stuart Findlay from the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, we will examine current research on submerged aquatic plants, especially wild celery (Vallisneria), and do field studies of aquatic vegetation.
