Clearwater’s Open Boat
On Saturday, December 16th, walk the deck of the Clearwater (that old school sloop that rides the waves of the Hudson each summer and reminds us of our conservationist tendencies). It’s the first of the Winter Open Boat Sessions, where visitors can meet the crew, and join a tour of the sloop Clearwater as she winters at the Home Port in Kingston. And December’s is a holiday party with live music by the Funkinships, an arts and crafts activity to make wooden Christmas ornaments, and a performance by Parrots of Peace, where people can take pictures with the parrots. Bring a potluck dish to share, a nonperishable item to contribute to charitable donation, and a musical instrument for the jam session.
Mark your calendar because that’s the winning formula for all the monthly Winter Open Boat Sessions: live local music, a visit to the sloop Clearwater as she undergoes restoration work this winter, children’s arts and crafts projects, and a potluck dinner.
