ANNUAL MUSHROOM ID WALK
With Mid-Hudson Mycological Society
At Sloan Gorge Preserve map
Join us for this popular walk at Sloan Gorge. Learn the basics of fungi identification, knowing which are safe and which are poisonous, as well as the place of fungi in the ecology of the woodland. A field guide would be a use tool if available.
It should be understood that the presence of fungi is entirely dependent upon weather conditions leading up to the time of the walk.
This program is free and open to the public. Rain will cancel.
Thorn Preserve, 60 acres of sweeping grassland habitat for birds, butterflies and pollinators, riparian forest, wetland and ponds, is operated in partnership with the Catskill Center for Conservation.
Remember to bring water and dress for the presence of ticks. Rain will cancel this hike.
