Hudson River Estuary Mini Grants Program
Tuesday, 12 June 2012 19:48
New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Commissioner Joe Martens has announced the availability a competitive Hudson River Estuary Mini-Grants Program. Funding is available for these grants in state fiscal year 2011-2012 from the NYS Environmental Protection Fund (EPF).
Eligible applicants include municipalities (counties, cities, towns or villages) and not-for-profit corporations with a 501(c)(3) designation. Projects eligible for state assistance must be located within the Hudson River Estuary geographic boundaries, as shown on pages 1 and 5 in the application.
Eligible projects must implement one or more of the goals and targets identified in the2010-2014 Hudson River Estuary Action Agenda. The Action Agenda can be viewed atwww.dec.ny.gov/lands/5104.html.
The minimum grant award an applicant can request is $5,000 and the maximum is $10,000. State assistance may fund up to 50 % of the total project cost; the remaining 50% must be provided as local match. For example, a $10,000 grant would need $10,000 in local match. Eligible sources of local match are defined in the application instructions.
