intergenerate community garden

2010_Marsh_conservancy_community_gardenLocal Community Gardens are sprouting up all over.  Westchester has several great examples of how to use vacant land for good and for food. Bill Cary of the Journal News writes this wonderful article "With Space in Short Supply, Community Gardens Take Root".  The eggplants in the first photo may well be mine.  Joining the Intergenerate Marsh Sanctuary Community Garden this spring allowed me to grow these, my favorite vegetable, near my office.  The garden took very little work and was a welcome respite during lunch.

Some offices are offering garden space to employees. Kim Seversen  wrote about Company Gardens in the New York TImes.
