indexThe Southern Tier Sheep & Wool Growers Annual Wool Pool will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 12 & 13, 2009.  The pool will be accepting white wool from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. both days at the Otsego County Fair Grounds in Morris, NY.

The wool will be separated into two categories: white wool three inches in stable length and off-sorts/short wool.  We will not be accepting naturally colored wool.

We will refuse to accept any wool showing evidence of plastic twine or ragged plastic, or wool brought to the pool in fiberglass feed bags.  We also will not accept wet wool.  Any wool contaminated with wood shavings, moths (or castings), grain, burdocks, sheep keds or lice, skin pieces, rodent excrements, or excessive vegetable matter will be placed in the off-sorts category or may be rejected.

When you arrive please sign in at the front desk to receive you unloading number, we will also be checking to make sure we have your correct information.  If you are bringing wool for more than one producer, please make are you have their complete address so we can send out the check.

Please remember to sign up for your LDP payment at your local Farm Service Agency before you sell your wool. Also, Eugene Wright has sold his sheep and will have a few pieces of used sheep equipment (scales, gates, panels, etc) for sale at this years pool.
